    DSC01049

Sixth Form students follow a life skills curriculum suited to their needs as they mature into young adults. The curriculum intent is based around the four preparing for adulthood strands.

    ●Independent Living

●Friends, Relationships and Participation in Society

    ●Being healthy

    ●Education and Employment

The sixth form curriculum builds on the skills which students have already developed, whilst ensuring that it is different from and more adult oriented than the lower school curriculum.

The sixth form curriculum focuses firmly on the acquisition of social skills, life and independent living skills to support our young people with the transition to adulthood.

Students access a full and varied curriculum with learning taking place both in school and in a range of community based settings.

Curriculum planning draws on EQUALS, ASDAN’s Personal Progress Award, the AQA Unit Award Scheme and Turney staff’s creativity to create programmes of study for our unique students.

Pupils gain accreditation with a range of units from the ASDAN Personal Progress award and the AQA Unit Award Scheme
