Computing

Computing is taught as a discrete subject and across the curriculum.  For this reason the school encourages students to use laptops, tablets and digital devices to understand computing technology and how it supports all aspects of learning and independent living skills.

Students are introduced to computing in in Key Stage 3 where they start to build knowledge on using technology safely, responsibly and respectfully, recognising acceptable and unacceptable on-line behaviour and who to report to if they have concerns.  They will learn over time how to in-put, create, store, manipulate and retrieve data.

In Key Stages 4 and 5 they will consolidate this knowledge, as well learning to use a variety of software to achieve national accreditation and computing skills for independent living in the community.
