At Lansdowne we have two highly specialist art rooms where students are able to build their art skills across the key stages. In Key Stage 3 students develop their knowledge in drawing, colour, painting and sculpture across a range of topics. They become familiar with artists and their work, exploring and experimenting with different methods and colour. This is a nurturing practical, hands-on subject that encourages ideas and imagination, as well developing fine motor-skills.
In Key Stages 4 and 5 students use and enhance their skills to achieve national accreditation.
Trips, visits and visiting artists encourage students across both key stages.
Art is a relaxing subject that encourages students to develop an awareness of the rich variety of art galleries in London and the local area, which will support students’ independent leisure skills as young adults.
